  • MBCT stands for Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. It's an evidence-based approach that combines elements of cognitive behavioural therapy with mindfulness practices.

Originally developed to help prevent relapse in recurrent depression, MBCT is now recognised for its broader benefits in stress reduction and general wellbeing.

MBCT teaches practical skills to help you:

    • Recognise when your mood is beginning to dip Understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations Respond more effectively to challenging situations Develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings The approach is recommended by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) both as a treatment for recurrent depression and as a wellbeing support that should be offered in workplaces.

    • At The Kindful, we adapt MBCT principles to create accessible skills training for mental health and emotional awareness.

  • Mindfulness is a practical way to develop awareness of your thoughts, emotions and physical sensations. It helps you understand your mind better, giving you tools to feel more balanced and calm. Rather than being a clinical or spiritual practice, I teach mindfulness as evidence-based skills training that helps you respond to life's challenges with greater ease.

  • The Kindful offers evidence-based, person-adaptive training delivered by a qualified instructor with both professional credentials (Master's from Oxford University) and 16 years of personal practice. My approach is inclusive, trauma-informed, and draws on my corporate background to make the training accessible and practical. I focus on how mindfulness skills can be applied in everyday life rather than treating it as an abstract concept.

  • Yes! I understand that committing to a full course without experiencing mindfulness first can feel daunting. I offer introductory taster sessions for both individuals and organisations. These sessions provide a gentle introduction to what mindfulness is (and isn't), along with a chance to experience short guided practices. Taster sessions typically last 30-60 minutes and can be arranged online or in-person.
