Mission

The Kindful help organisations take care of the mental health of their people through emotional awareness skills training and education, that is evidence-based and person-adaptive.

Vision

A thriving, more kindful world where equitable, collaborative mental health education supports our whole selves and communities.

Purpose

To connect people to useful mental health education and widen access to practical skills to enable better understanding of how to take care of ourselves and others.

What Makes Us Different

Kindful

Compassionate, kindful awareness for:

Ourselves: taking care of our needs

Our kin: how we relate to the people in our lives.

Kindness in action: our impact in the world

Let’s build a more kindful world together!

Inclusive

We believe that mental health education should be accessible and widely available. We aim for safe, adaptative spaces where people feel valued, heard and respected.

Collaborative

Change happens through connection. We work closely with individuals, communities, and organizations to create meaningful learning experiences. By sharing knowledge and listening to lived experiences, we ensure our training is relevant, impactful, and empowering.

Person-Centered Approach

We tailor our approach for individual needs. Our training adapts to personal learning styles, circumstances, and goals, ensuring skills are accessible and helpful.

Evidence-Based & Lived Experience

Blending scientific research on awareness practices with personal insight and expertise. Our approach ensures practical solutions grounded in both evidence and real life application.

Ethical & Trauma-Informed

We prioritise participant safety through screening practices. Whilst a trauma-informed approach places autonomy and choice at the centre of teaching, ensuring participants can engage in ways that feel safe for them.

Susan Liverman founded The Kindful with a vision to make evidence-based mental health education accessible to all. With a Master's in Mindfulness Based-Cognitive therapy from The University of Oxford, Susan is also registered with the British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches and brings this expertise to her work.

As a neurodivergent person, and caregiver, who has used mindfulness skills since 2008, Susan understands firsthand how emotional awareness skills can transform lives. Her approach is shaped by both professional credentials and lived experience, creating training that is both academically sound and deeply relatable.

Susan's 20 years of corporate experience informs her practical, adaptable teaching style. She excels at translating complex concepts into accessible, useful skills that participants can immediately apply in their daily lives. Her passion lies in demystifying mental health, particulary in relation to understanding emotions; creating inclusive learning environments where people feel welcomed exactly as they are.

Mental Health

A Collective Responsibility

At The Kindful, we believe that mental health and emotional awareness go beyond individual well-being—they are deeply connected to the communities and environments we live in. That’s why our approach is both personal and collective, helping individuals develop emotional awareness while fostering meaningful connections with others.

Building a Future of Equitable Mental Health Education

Our vision extends beyond today’s training sessions and workshops. At The Kindful, we are dedicated to creating a long-term impact by expanding access to mental health education that is practical, inclusive, and backed by research.
